Tennis champion Rafael “Rafa” Nadal Parera has officially returned to the number one spot, replacing Andy Murray on Monday, August 22, 2017.
This marks the first time the Spanish professional tennis player will be replacing Murray since 2014 he has held tight the top spot.
In a statement, Rafael noted that; “Being No 1 after all the things that I have been going through the last couple of years is something unbelievable, so (it) is, for me, an amazing achievement to be back to that position after three years.”
Appreciating everyone for their support, he also released a video via his official Instagram page to say thank you.
Rafael has claimed four titles on tour this season, winning 49 matches and losing nine in a stellar 2017.
