The derby between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid has sent two brothers to war in the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid will host Atletico Madrid on Sunday in La Liga and the game will pitch two brothers against each other as Theo and Lucas Hernandez will compete against each other for the three points at the Santiago Bernabeu.
It is a game that the former Atletico man is eagerly anticipating and he confessed that the presence of his brother does heighten the magnitude of the contest.
“The derby brings even more motivation to compete to the maximum and we will fight to try to win it,”
“In any game that we play, we compete to the fullest but the truth is that the derby does always bring extra motivation and we must fight for 90 minutes.
“Derbies are always special but having my brother there makes it a lot more than a normal derby, although when we are at home we don’t talk about the game.”
Theo is also now focused on continued improvement and hitting the heights expected of him after acknowledging that he initially struggled to settle into his new surroundings after his cross-capital move.
“I’m very happy to be here. This is a great club. In the beginning, it was difficult for me to adapt but I was so happy when Real called me,” he added.
“I didn’t even have to think about it when I said yes. I want to keep growing at this club as both a person and a player and I’ll put the effort in every day to do that.” Theo told Codere.
