Deji Adeyanju allegedly rearrested by the police
Deji Adeyanju has reportedly been rearrested by the Police. However it was gathered that Boma Williams and Daniel Abobama who were arrested with the activist, have been released.
Police Reform activist, Awosanya Segun who shared the report wrote;
Reports state that the @PoliceNG as tooled are mounting pressure on the Area Court Judge to release @adeyanjudeji immediately just so they can effect his re-arrest. As we speak they have as militarized set forth to Keffi Prison to jailbreak him to suit their cause.
We are thankful that Daniel Abobama and Boma Williams have been released. They could have been out since Friday but we wanted to avoid confrontation since the authorities have decided to go as low as laying siege at the court and prison.
Yemie Fash who also alleged that Deji Adeyanju has been rearrested wrote;
BREAKING: The police have rearrested @adeyanjuDeji, They are on their way to Police Command, Abuja right now.
The Police went to the keffi Prison to bail @adeyanjudeji themselves and rearrested him, Imagine the despiracy. It is very unfortunate that this lawlessness & abuse of power is happening under an administration that has a SAN, Law Professor as VP.
Mr Adeyanju was previously arrested, while leading a protest against police bias in Abuja on Wednesday morning. He was subsequently arraigned before a Chief Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday afternoon.
The presiding magistrate, Aliyu Kagargo, admitted Mr Adeyanju, Daniel Abobama and Boma Williams, the two other activists arrested with him, to bail.
